An early 19th century carved coquilla nut snuff box, Carved with animals, people etc. it measures 8.5cm w x 5cm d x 3.5cm h The inside carries a label from Brockington House. Possibly Lord Crofts residence.

Condition overall is very good,, a couple of minor cracks which aren't moving.

Coquilla, the nut of the Brazilian palm, became a popular medium for snuff boxes because of it's ideal size,it's natural strength and properties conducive to keeping snuff moist
