Pretty and Small Late 18th Century Tea Caddy

Description

A very fine, small and elegant late 18th century tortoiseshell TEA CADDY in spectacular condition.

The "tented" top is surmounted by a cast silver bow handle, with engraved silver divisions between each of the tortoiseshell panels. The front features a typical small silver escutcheon above a shield-shaped cartouche, whilst the interior, which retains most of its original lead lining, is complete with inner lid with matching silver bow handle.

** This pretty small caddy really is delightful and totally original. 4.75ins high; 4.0ins wide; 3ins deep. (12 x 10 x 7.6cms)
