Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The lid opens to reveal the pretty interior, with a red leather 'pouch' within the lid; pair of original in bottles with ormolu lids and a blue gilt-tooled leather writing surface that folds out and rests on pretty little brass ball feet for use.
A delightful writing box of a design we have not previously seen. The quality of this suggests it is possibly by Edwards, box maker to the Royal Family?
