It has inlaid and banded tunbridge ware around the box to add to the design. The centre star and escutcheon is made from mother of pearl and abalone. The interior is completely original with all your typical writing slope features.
Inlaid with its original velvet it comes with a glass ink well. Has secret draws which are released when the latch is lifted.
Dates back to the Victorian period and comes with fully functioning lock and key.
