Description

A late 18th. Century mahogany oval Sheraton tea caddy with oval inlays. The lid with a large inlaid shell on a green stained fruit wood ground and framed within tulip wood cross banding and boxwood lines. The front with 2 satinwood ovals both with floral inlay and boxwood and ebony stringing, and an ivorine escutcheon. The lid interior with boxwood and ebony inlaid star and brass hinge. The base with tulip wood cross banded top and silver paper lining. In good original condition, no breaks or repairs. Size:- Width..6.25''/16cm. Depth..4''/9.6cm. Height..4.5''/11.5cm.
