Description

A lovely fine example of a Jewellery box. The main exterior wood being coromandel wood which has a smooth dark grain. It's been fully brass bounded around the edge of the box to increase strength and stability of the box. All in completely original condition with it's brass inlay on the lid with the brass escutcheon also. The interior comprises of a drop front to increase storage space and has compartments for all different types of jewellery. It's been inlaid with a dark blue velvet. Comes with fully functioning lock and key and dates back to the Victorian period, c.1850.
