Fitted Sewing Box with Superb Original Contents

Description

A good mid-Victorian fully fitted SEWING BOX in excellent condition and with splendid fittings.

The box itself is of beautifully embossed and gilt-tooled morocco leather (on all sides), and opens to reveal the immaculate and impressive interior which is lined in purple silk.

The superb contents include full set of seven carved Mother-of-Pearl cotton reels; matching MOP tape measure and waxer; carved MOP needle cases; set of four carved MOP winders; pair of matching thimbles and a tray of various tools and implements. In the compartment below are various other sewing items and patterns etc....a lovely sewing box.
