Description

A rare and superb quality Sheraton mahogany apothecary box with satinwood and boxwood stringing, the original lock and key opening up to reveal a wonderfully made cabinet with its original bottles and potions in the little drawers which have little ivory knobs. All in all this is quite a special box with a wonderful description saying ' this medicine chest was presented to me by my good friend Mrs Baker on the 17th day of september 1801

for which I will keep on wished to her worthy memory"

a date inscribed below says 1776

The box is quite special and I wish I didnt have to let it go !
