A early and unusual oak cotton reel box for the sale and promotion of Dewhurst''s ''Sylko'' machine twist cotton. The two drawer oak box is heavily decorated in advertising for the company in gilt lettering. The box is in excellent condition with all the cotton reel compartments intact within the drawers and the box in great condition. The lettering is in good condition with the usual wear and the lettering on the top has had some slight restoration. The whole is a rare piece of early advertising and would have been placed on the counters of haberdashers. C.1900.
