A fine quality rosewood tea caddy from the Regency period of charming bombe shape. The caddy stands on cast, winged lion''s paw feet and has the original double eagle carrying handles. The caddy is of the most wonderful bombe shape with a pagoda top, the rosewood has faded to a warm colour contrasting with the interior. The ivory escutcheon is the original and the whole caddy has a lovely untouched patina and colour. The interior is completely original with the rosewood tea boxes and the velvet lining material and glass mixing bowl. The caddy has a working key and lock. The whole is a lovely country house example of a Regency tea caddy. C.1810.
