A fine quality Regency single tea caddy in the shape of a pedestal. The caddy has a moulded plinth base with an overhanging top with chamfered edge. The whole is veneered in the most wonderful flame Cuban mahogany and the colour and patina is exquisite. The interior would have been completely lined with tin but it has worn away to the pine base, the interior did not have a lid. The caddy has a working key and lock. A most unusual single tea caddy and of a superb colour, and in excellent untouched condition. C.1820.
