Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1880s.
, and opens to reveal the main tray full of 12 silver-topped bottles and jars. When removed, there is revealed a lower tray beautifully fitted for various tools and implements (17 in total) and complete save a small penknife.

Many of these tools, which include a very fine engraved pencil; thimble; double-ended spoon etc, are silver and some have tortoiseshell handles. Within the lid behind a 'wallet' is a mahogany-backed easel mirror (original). A gorgeous box: 13.25 x 9.5ins (33.5 x 24cms)
