Nice Shape George III Mahogany Knife Box

Description

Lovely shape large size George III mahogany and inlaid knife box. Great flame mahogany used on the top and front with nice grained mahogany on the sides and back.

The top is inlaid with a chequered line and tulip-wood cross banding. The front is also inlaid with the same chequered line and tulip-wood cross banding. There are two kinda columns inlaid with an intricate line pattern with moulded capitals to the top and bottom.

The box has its original silver plated escution plate and wee drop handle but it is empty inside.

Just a nice looking box that could be used for storage of various items.

SIZE; 9" wide by 11" from front to back by 15" high
