Rosewood Vanity Box

19th century
Description

A lovely vanity Box made from Rosewood which is in great condition all round. No marks on the wood with a light polish finish. It has a mother of pearl inlay on the top lid and escutcheon. The interior comprises of an integrated mirror inside the lid and also a compartment for letters.

The main section has an array of glass and silver plated jars and pots also comes with a few mother of pearl utensils. The top tray lifts out to reveal storage space underneath. The right-hand side the box has a brass pin which activates and pushes the side tray outwards which would have been used for jewellery.

This Vanity Box dates back to the Victorian period, c.1850.
