Description

An excellent quality mid-19th century mahogany APOTHECARY'S or MEDICINE BOX.

The solid box, with its recessed carrying handles, opens to reveal an interior literally stuffed with 28 various bottles and jars, some with original contents and virtually all with labels. The lower drawer opens to reveal original scales and weights; whilst front compartments open via sliding mahogany lids to reveal the glass pestle and mortar and all sorts of other goodies!

An excellent and comprehensively fitted medicine box.
