Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The lids lift off to show the original zinc lined interior. On the front of the caddy is a small mother of pearl escutcheon in the form of a heraldic shield. At the sides are large ring handles held in position by small brackets which have carving similar to the knobs inside. At the base the beaded moulding is repeated and there is a very unusual apron of arches all the way around.
Size 21cm high x 32cm wide x 20cm deep.
