Inlaid Satinwood Tea Caddy

Description

An attractive and good quality late 18th century satinwood TEA CADDY.

Of elongated octagonal shape, it is edged with ebony and inlaid with an oval marquetry patera of a conch shell to the lid, and three further oval marquetry paterae of oak leaves, acorns etc., to the front. The lid opens to reveal most of the original lead lining and the original inner lid. Pretty and of good colour.
