Description

An absolutely stunning example of a Vanity Box. The main exterior wood in a lovely Olive wood which gives a marvelous swirling grain effect. Inlaid on the top is the original brass inlay which is the same as the brass escutcheon. Fully functioning lock and original key. The interior of the box is all kitted out with the silver plated glass jars and pots all in immaculate condition. Comes with the original mother of pearl utensils and silver plated scissors.

All compartments are lined with soft blue velvet. The top tray lifts out to reveal more storage space underneath.

Integrated inside the lid is a full width mirror that can be turned completely around and fitted back inside so the mirror could be used permanently. On the left trim of the box is a small brass pin which lifts upwards so the side draw can be opened to reveal more storage space. Dating back to the Victorian period.
