Georgain Writing Slope

Description

A solid Mahogany Writing Slope. Fully brass bound for great strength and durability. Two brass handles on each side, one which is attached to a side draw. Original brass inlay on the top lid and brass escutcheon. The box opens to the flat position as it was used for writing. The Interior is lined with a light purple velvet. It has to sections for ink wells and a compartment inbetween for pens and writing material. This piece dates back to the Georgian period, C.1820.
