Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Two late Georgian mahogany bowfront cabinets date to circa 1800 and exhibit a warm brown colour with rich flame mahogany veneer. Each piece stands on splayed bracket feet and incorporates a lift-up lid alongside single top drawers fitted with dark turned wooden knobs above lower cupboard doors. The surfaces retain their original polish finish, displaying distinct wood grain patterns and gentle wear appropriate for their age. Cabinet One measures 69 cm in height by 69 cm in width by 43 cm in depth, while Cabinet Two measures 69 cm in height by 66 cm in width by 48 cm in depth. These versatile items function well in a living room, dining room, or hallway as traditional storage units or dedicated bottle and wine cabinets.

FAQs

Georgian bowfront furniture features a convex curved front panel, characteristic of late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century British cabinetmaking designed to soften room angles.

Cabinetmakers predominantly utilised solid mahogany framing, flame mahogany veneers, pine or oak secondary wood linings, and turned wooden or brass hardware.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine secondary woods, original locks or keyholes, and natural age-related shrinkage or patination on mahogany surfaces.

These cabinets function effectively as bedside tables, sofa end tables, or hallway storage, offering warmth and historical contrast against contemporary decor.

Preserve the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and applying beeswax polish occasionally along the grain.
