Japanese Satsuma Kogo (Lidded Box) Signed Meiji Period

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this nice quality Japanese Satsuma kogo from the Meiji period , the square lidded box stands on four tapered legs and is decorated throughout the sides with a mixture of floral and geometric panels , the lid appears to depict a gathering around a procession of a temple being carried shoulder high through the streets , the interior is further decorated with geisha at rest and the underside signed in a red and gilt seal aside a mon.

A really great and unusual trinket box for the satsuma collector in your life !

Condition is lovely with minimal gilt rubbing.
