George III Mahogany and Inlaid Box. Circa; 1790

Description

Very nice George III mahogany and rosewood veneered box with boxwood line inlay to the edges and fancy line inlay to the top and front. The top of this box is lovely with segmented mahogany design with oval rosewood in the middle, fancy boxwood line, mahogany cross banding round the edge and boxwood stringing.

The front which is cross banded both top and bottom, again with boxwood stringing and fancy line inlay. The sides and back are veneered in cross grain mahogany.

The whole piece is a gorgeous colour.

The inside is empty, originally it has had a lift out tray.

SIZE; 11" long by 7" wide by 5" high
