Fully Fitted Lady's Dressing & Jewellery Case

Description

A pretty mid-19th century fully fitted LADY'S DRESSING & JEWELLERY BOX in excellent condition.

The locking rosewood case itself is finely inlaid in Mother-of-pearl, abalone and engraved brass with a Garden scene incorporating a fountain, a bird, butterfly and various flowers.

The lid opens to reveal the full set of eleven silver-topped jars and scent bottles etc., plus a tray of implements which include: an engraved silver propelling pencil; various tools and pair of scissors with gold handles.

There are two "secret" drawers, on to the side and another in the base which is fully fitted for jewellery. The silver is hallmarked for London 1845.
