The antique box is the typical shape of a ships box as the sides have a slightly tapering shape, this make them more stable whilst at sea.
Dating from around 1840-50, this sea mans chest has the original owners name o the box lid, C.Cooper.
In super condition, the antique chest has fabulous leather covered rope carrying handles on each side. Inside is a long candle tray.
