Description

A useful general-purpose storage box, in oak, that can easily serve as low table. It is of well made exposed fine dovetail construction and consists of a lift-up top opening to reveal a storage interior with a stay to hold the lid in place. There are two working keys and locks, and there is a simple plinth base support. This most attractive trunk – sometimes referred to as a strong box – dates from c.1890/c.1910. It has well figured timbers and a rich, warm colour.
