Well-fitted Lady's Jewellery Box with Fitted Trays

Description

A particularly attractive and well-fitted LADY'S JEWELLERY BOX in excellent original condition.

The case itself is of sandalwood, cross-banded and profusely inlaid with ivory and chequer stringing. The lid opens to reveal the first tray, well-fitted for rings, necklaces etc., with the second tray below, further fitted for earrings, brooches and other items of jewellery. This also lifts out to reveal ta third fitted compartment below.

A good box ~ perhaps Vizagapatam? Complete with working key.
