Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The typically superb quality shaped box is of rare mulberry wood with applied ormolu mounts, the lid with an ormolu handle, opens to reveal the full set of original contents which include: silver handled scissors; silver needle case; engraved silver tumble; bodkin; stiletto and original set of four engraved Mother-of-Pearl winders
The lid retains its original mirror and there is the original silk pad for the interior (not shown).
