Superb Regency Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy

Description

A superb quality early 19th century Regency period tortoiseshell TEA CADDY in pristine original condition.

The domed and concave-sided lid is inset with an engraved silver cartouche whilst the bombe shaped front features an applied silver key escutcheon.

The lid opens to reveal twin tortoiseshell veneered lids with ivory knop handles and remnants of the original lead lining are evident. It is supported on four original brass ball feet and is in superb condition throughout with a fine 'warm' colour.
