Description

A magnificent early Victorian Artist's Watercolour Paint box dating to around 1840. The box is in superb condition and made from Mahogany, the drawer have a flush inlaid cut brass military style handle.

The box opens to reveal the wonderful original label "To Her Majesty, His Royal Highness Prince Albert & The Royal Family".

The box is fitted with the tray with the Watercolour cakes, a glass water bowl and a ceramic Ackermann palette, there is another palette within the drawer, with a different mark. The drawer is opened by removing the brass pin which keeps it locked while the box is locked.

There are all sorts of bits and pieces within which is how it came to us and we have left everything intact. Complete with a working key, the box is in excellent condition. 9" x 7" 3 1/4".
