Description

Magnificent to find a jewelry box so very early, they certainly don't come along very often. The box is made from Apple Wood with a typically Sheraton inlay to the top with the original silver swing handle intact.

The front two ring handles and the interior two pins which hold the drawers in place are also made from silver. The two hooks look to have been added later, it is a bonus as the fine thin lids on early boxes such as these are susceptible to warping, this has been kept nice and snug. The box comes with a working key.

Once opened, the box is quite stunning with the top section and interiors of the two drawers is all original in a deep rich pink colour, a little wear but really quite superb for over 200 years old.

A few old grain cracks commensurate with age, mentioned and show purely for accuracy. A real gem in excellent condition. 13 1/4" x 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" tall.
