Superb Quality Large Flamed Mahogany Antique Tea Caddy

This Victorian, circa 1840, antique tea caddy is of superb quality and constructed from flamed mahogany. It has a strikingly shaped lid which when opened reveals two original tea boxes with hinged lids and a glass mixing bowl (with hairline crack).This elegantly styled caddy is of superb quality with a wonderfully striking flamed mahogany finish. It stands on small turned bun feet and is a rich medium shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
