Top Quality Small Antique English Jewellery Box in Burr Walnut C.1860

Description

A sensational quality box, made from the most exquisite burr Walnut with a deep nutty colour with a highly decorative wood grain. The edges are all cross-banded in Tulipwood and the centre of the lid is inlaid with a brass plaque, engraved with the original owner's name, M L Ofield. The front has a complimentary brass escutcheon which houses a working key.

The box opens to reveal a totally original interior, the tray and inside of the box made from exotic Tulipwood. The tray and lid is lined in a green velvet with some wear but still in very good condition, the tray have a central pocket watch holder.

Excellent condition, measuring 6" x 4" x 3 1/4" tall.
