19thc Victorian Lovely and Unusual Onyx Stationary Box.

Description

19th century lovely unusual Victorian onyx stationary box with delicate foliate engraved angled rising top revealing an original blue moire silk lined divided fitted interior, very suitable for papers or letters.

With beautiful veins to the onyx.

Fabulous gilt metal escutcheon to front of box.

A very unusual high quality stationary box which would have been an expensive purchase at the time it was originally bought.

Size-7 1/8 inches wide by 4.5 inches deep by 6 inches high back, and 5 inches high front.

Weight-3.75 kilos before packing.

In very good condition.

This would make a lovely decorative and functional piece to use on table or desk.
