Here we have a fine quality Victorian period Camphor wood zanzibar chest c1850. As you can see the chest has super colour and patina. The chest has wonderful decoration with brass stud work to the top and sheet brass and stud work to the sides and front. These desirable chests make lovely coffee tables or are equally at home in the bedroom for great storage. The top has geometric shaped decoration with a framed top and moulded edge. The top retains the original clasp and hinges. Inside there is a candle or herb box which supports the lid when open. The front is profusely decorated with stud and applied brass sheet work. There are three drawers typical of this type of chest again with stud work and moulded fronts. The drawers retain their original locks and handles. The chest sits on squashed bun feet. A fantastic period chest in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 39 inches wide 18.5 high and 18 deep.
