It is further enhanced with ornate pierced brass decoration. The hinged lid opens to reveal a partially lined interior (original) and provide ideal storage space for those special letters or valuable trinkets maybe? The box is full of charm and character expected in an original antique and is a lovely warm golden shade of walnut with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
