Beautifully Figured Antique Victorian Mahogany Box

This antique Victorian box, circa 1870, is constructed from beautifully figured flamed mahogany. Sitting on brass bun feet and proportioned ideally to be used as a jewellery casket or stationery box it would look delightful either in a living space or bedroom. The interior contains a removable tray and still retains some of the early blue paper lining. It is a lovely warm golden shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

Approx. dimensions are:

Height: 16.5cm / 6½"

Width: 33cm / 13"

Depth: 23cm / 9"
