A Rosewood Sewing, Writing, Jewellery Compendium

Description

An excellent quality late Regency or William IV mother-of-pearl inlaid rosewood SEWING, WRITING & JEWELLERY CABINET in fine original condition.

Profusely inlaid with panels of flowers etc and with applied gadroon mouldings, the top opens to reveal displayed the beautifully fitted sewing section with various gilt-tooled lidded compartments; needle case etc. The front doors open to reveal three drawers, one of which is fitted for jewellery and another as a fold-out writing slope, complete with ink bottle and leather writing surface.

It is supported on solid extended bun feet with Mother-of-Pearl inlaid side handles. Remarkable condition.
