A Superb Lady's Fitted Jewellery Box

Description

A truly wonderful quality mid-Victorian fitted LADY'S JEWELLERY BOX in remarkably good and totally original condition.

Constructed of beautifully figure Coromandel wood, this lovely box is mounted with Gothic-style brass corner mounts and an ornate Gothic style escutcheon to the front.

The lid opens to reveal two removable trays both of which are fitted with various compartments in the original navy leather and velvet, whilst there is a further vacant compartment below. Lovely quality and completely original. Measurements: 13.5ins wide; 9.5ins deep; 6.5ins high. (34 x 24 x 16.5cms)

**NB. Many fitted jewellery boxes started life as something different and have been retro-fitted. Original examples, such as this fine box, are rare.
