Sheraton Period Inlaid Tea Caddy

Description

A good quality early 19th century Sheraton period inlaid TEA CADDY in good original condition.

Veneered overall in harewood, the lid is inlaid with a navette-shaped marquetry panel of a conch shell within a rosewood cross- banded border, and the front is similarly inlaid. The interior features two lidded compartments and much of the original lead lining remains. It is supported on pretty turned ivory feet.
