A Fine Large "Mandoline Expressive: Swiss Music Box

Description

A lovely quality and large mid/late 19th century SWISS MUSIC BOX which plays EIGHT tunes beautifully and in the finest tone.

The case is veneered in book-matched rosewood, which is inlaid to the lid with a large panel of marquetry flowers and leaves within a kingwood crossbanded border.

The lid opens to reveal the movement in good original condition, complete with "Zither" attachment and the original tune sheet. The case: 28ins wide . The cylinder: 17ins wide. (71cms; 43cms). The fine quality "Mandoline Expressive with Zither" music box retains all of its original tone and resonance; a good large example.
