Description

An excellent mid-Victorian TUNBRIDGE-WARE BOX in particularly fine condition.

The top features a panel of "Van Dyke" marquetry cubes within an ebony border and chequered edges, with the same pattern repeated around all four sides.

It opens to reveal the good clean cedar-lined interior, and is complete with working key. The original makers label for T. Barton, Tunbridge Wells, can be found on the base.
