George III Mahogany & Ebony Tea Caddy

Description

18th century George III mahogany and ebony tea caddy. Sides and top veneered with nicely grained mahogany on oak carcass. The base mould and the quarter round moud to all the corners are solid ebony. Original rococco brass handle and escution. Original ebony topped oak divisions inside.

It has never had feet.

Condition is pretty good for age but there is no lock plus there has been a couple of old repairs to the inside of the lid where the hinges are. No repairs to the outside of the box.

Nice original patina with waxed finish.

SIZE; 9 1/2" by 5" by 5 1/2" high
