Description

17th Century Antique Oak Box.

This English, period oak antique box dates from around 1680 and has retained traces of the original paint along with the front panel which displays original carving.

In lovely condition with the period iron locking plate, one original hinge remains, the other is a faithful, matching replacement.

Originally, this box would have been used to house safely together, important household belongings which is as important now as three hundred years ago.

Now in Miles Griffiths antiques showrooms in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
