Sheraton Period Tea Caddy

Description

An attractive late 18th/early 19th century cube TEA CADDY in good condition.

The top and all four sides feature inlaid marquetry "batswing" paterae, surrounded by tulipwood crossbanding and boxwood stringing. The lid opens to reveal hand decorated initials (of the owner?) underneath, and an inner lid with ivory knop. Lined in lead, though this is likely to be later.
