A superb eighteenth century Georgian mahogany tea caddy, in completely original condition.The caddy stands on an ebonised moulded base, each side is veneered in wonderful flame cut Cuban mahogany, all surrounded by boxwood stringing and mouldings. The caddy features inlaid panels to the front and lid both of the highest quality. The lid retains the original brass handle, and the box has the original key to lock it. The interior retains the original fittings, all lead lined and in great condition, with two lidded compartments. This is a wonderful piece of Georgian cabinetmaking and in excellent untouched condition with a superb patina and colour. C.1780
