"REEVES & SONS Colour Manufacturers"

A superb Regency rosewood and brass inlaid artist's box with contents including paints, pots, charcoal sticks and porcelain palettes. Also with drawings and sketches from the early 19th century by the owner of the box Barbara Walker who's name is engraved

on the box lid.

There is a lovely old label for "Reeves & Sons Colour Manufacturers" in one drawer, also a letter dated 19th of March 1833 written to the owner of the box, a couple of trade catalogues etc. etc.

Measures approx. 15"x 9"x 4".

This box dates from around 1825 -1830

so is earlier than many similar boxes.

The condition is fairly good - it has been used but the extra contents and provenance make this box a charming and very rare example.
