Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The lid is beautifully inlaid with an oval panel of satinwood within a border of marquetry harebells and multiple lines of other woods including harewood (stained sycamore) can be found around the edges.
The back and both sides are also inlaid with oval panels ~ of yew-wood ~ whilst the inside retains much of its original lead lining. A lovely caddy. 5ins high; 5ins wide; 4.25ins deep.
