Burr Yew Wood Two Division Tea Caddy Circa 1760

Description

A beautiful, genuine 18th century burr yew wood tea caddy crossbanded top, sides, bottom, base and lid tops with what appears to be seven or eight strings of satinwood.

The caddy has its original ivory tops and hinges and original ivory escutchon. Sorry no key.

There seems to an indent on the base (see picture) I am really not too sure what use this had but it does seem to be integral to the caddy.

The condition is good for the age of this piece with some signs of wear as would be expected for a peice over 250 years old.

The caddy measures 8 ins across . 4.5 ins deep and is 5ins high.
