Unusual Brass Bound Rosewood Writing Slope

Description

Here we have on offer a really unusual brass mounted rosewood writing slope covered in high quality gothic style cast brass mounts ,a couple of the brass mounts have been stamped with a registration mark for 1853 also the brass escutchion has a makers or patent name stamped into it , inside it has the usual lift up storage compartments and comes complete with its original lock and key.

The condition is great and ready to use or a great gift , being solid rosewood as opposed to veneer it has a couple of old stable age cracks on the lid and a few old usage marks but its a great box that will last another 150yrs if looked after !!
