A Military Campaign Writing Slope

19th century
Description

A George 111 military campaign writing slope with shaped corner bracing and brass banding. Flush military carrying handles to the sides. Side drawer secured by a pin from the interior. Two secret drawers accessed via spring mecanism within the pen tray. Two glass inks. Working lock and original key. Brass adjustable reading slope support. (reading slope ledge now missing). The writing surface has been rebaized. Some minor useage cracks to the brass corners and rear top of the lid.

50 cms wide by 27.5 deep by 17.5 high.
